Raptr Statuses Added

A few people wanted the ability to show their latest Raptr status update in their signatures, so I adapted some of the code used for the Blippr API integration and then, as if by magic, it worked

To use this, you'll need to add your Raptr username to the 3P Settings tab on the Settings page, and then wait until the next scheduled update for the data to be downloaded from Raptr's servers. (Currently this happens hourly)

Once your data has been downloaded, simply use the Raptr variables (which you can get on the Dashboard) in a "Custom Text" line in your signature.

Integration of the Blippr API has been completed!

L33TSig is now able to show your latest "blip" in your signature. To use this, you'll need to add your Blippr name to the 3P Settings tab on the Settings page.

To use the data in your signature, simply use the Blippr variables (shown on the Wiki, or on your Dashboard once your Blippr data has been collected).

Have fun

Downtime over the last 48 hours (24-26 Sept)

RapidSwitch, the datacenter who host L33TSig's server, have encountered unforeseen problems with a router software upgrade, which is causing downtime while they work on fixing the issues.

The initial upgrade was to fix a serious memory leak, however the new version of the software caused a very high CPU load, which degraded network performance and connectivity even further.

QUOTE (RapidSwitch @ 25/09/09 21:05)

This is a quick update to keep you informed of the situation. The CPU usage on the RSH North cluster is still at a high level which will result in degraded network performance. We are in permanent contact with Cisco engineers and are continuing to troubleshoot the issue. This work will continue to cause interruptions to connectivity.

I will try and post further updates, downtime allowing, when I receive them.

Update:

QUOTE (RapidSwitch @ 26/09/09 02:25)

We were provided a solution by Cisco TAC at approximately 01:40 UK time. This was the third solution provided and we are pleased to say that it seems to have been effective. Network capacity and performance is running at normal levels, and over 99% of clients are back online.

New Server

If you can see this message, it means that you're on the new server!

The new server is a Dell PowerEdge R300, with a 2.83GHz Intel Xeon Quad-core CPU, 12GB DDR2 667MHz ECC RAM, and has two Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB SATA2 hard disks in RAID1 connected to a SAS6i/R hardware RAID controller. It's running VMware ESX 3.5, a bare-metal hypervisor, which is running various virtual machines for the actual hosting of HTTP, MySQL, DNS, SMTP (Email), IRC, and more.

I have also moved hosts, so the server is now at one of RapidSwitch's datacenters, on the outskirts of West London.

Downtime

Apologies for the extended downtime earlier/yesterday - the server ceased responding at around midnight (GMT), so we asked the host to remotely reboot the box. However, it was unable to reboot successfully until it had completed a fsck (File System Check), which required the root (admin) password - this took a while to diagnose, but was quickly resolved once we found the source of the problem

The server *should* (fingers crossed!) stay up long enough to purchase and setup the new server - feel free to donate towards the cost of it to help speed things up
